BUILDING
HOUSES
Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of
money and materials, Habitat builds simple decent houses with the
help of families who qualify based on need, ability to pay, and
willingness to partner with our program.
Habitat is not a give-away program.
In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments,
homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor--sweat equity--into
building their house and the houses of others.
BUILDING HOPE
The Theology of the Hammer
For Habitat, the hammer manifests God's love. We build affordable houses for
God's people in need, using Biblical economics: no profit and no
interest.
The Economics of Jesus
We provide a way for those who have to help those in need.
Over 95% of each donation to the Carpenter's Club goes to buy land or build houses.
As mortgages are paid into the Fund for Humanity, additional houses can be built.
Therefore, your contribution continues to give to future families. |
